Spokane jewelry business offers free restoration help

A longtime Spokane business is lending a hand to those who lost more than just their homes in the recent wildfires. Tracy Jewelers, a family-owned shop in the area, has announced it will provide free jewelry restoration services for pieces damaged by smoke, heat, or water during the Spokane Area Fires.

The offer is open to anyone who was impacted by the blazes, even if they were not a prior customer of the store. The team at Tracy Jewelers understands that jewelry often carries deep sentimental value, holding memories of weddings, anniversaries, or loved ones who have passed. For many fire victims, a scorched or soot-covered ring or necklace might be the only tangible link to a family history that was otherwise destroyed.

According to the shop, the restoration process can involve careful cleaning, stone tightening, and repair of bent prongs or clasps. In some cases, more extensive work like re-plating or re-setting stones may be needed, but the store is covering those costs as well. They are asking people to bring in their damaged items during regular business hours, and they will assess each piece individually.

The response from the community has been strong, with several residents already stopping by to drop off heirlooms they thought were beyond saving. Tracy Jewelers says they will continue the program as long as there is a need, hoping to give back a small piece of normalcy to families working through a difficult recovery.
