Troy University has appointed Dr. Steve Grice as the interim dean of its Sorrell College of Business, effective July 1. Grice, an alumnus of the university, previously served as the director of the William H. Carr School of Accountancy. His new role comes after Dr. Judson Edwards, the former dean, was named the university's interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost.
Grice brings a strong background in both academia and professional practice to the position. He holds a doctorate in accountancy and has been a faculty member at Troy for years, where he has been involved in curriculum development and accreditation efforts. His leadership of the accountancy school helped maintain the program's reputation for producing skilled graduates.
The Sorrell College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as finance, management, marketing, and information systems. It holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a mark of quality in business education. Grice's appointment ensures continuity in leadership as the college continues its work.
University officials expressed confidence in Grice's ability to guide the college during this transition. His familiarity with the institution and its goals is expected to help maintain momentum in academic programs and community partnerships. Grice stated he looks forward to serving in the role and supporting students, faculty, and staff.
