HONOLULU - Hawaii businesses that registered during the third quarter of the year are being reminded that their annual reports are now due. The state's Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs issued the notice this week, urging companies to file before the deadline to avoid penalties.
Any business that registered between July 1 and September 30 must submit its annual report by midnight on September 30. Failing to do so will result in a late filing penalty fee. The requirement applies to all entities that registered during that three-month window, including corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
The annual report is a standard filing that updates the state on basic business information, such as the company's principal address, officers, and directors. It is separate from tax filings and other regulatory paperwork. The state encourages businesses to file online through its business registration portal, which is available 24 hours a day.
Officials note that the deadline is strict and that no extensions are granted. Late filers will incur a penalty, and continued non-compliance can lead to administrative dissolution of the business. Business owners are advised to check their registration date and file promptly to keep their company in good standing with the state.
