Lessons Learned from My First Trip to Vancouver

Lessons Learned from My First Trip to Vancouver

I was a first-time tourist in Vancouver in May 2025. I made mistakes that cost me money and left me longing for more. The vibrant city, known for its stunning landscapes and diverse culture, was an exciting destination, yet I found myself stumbling in several areas.

One of my biggest errors was underestimating the public transportation system. I opted for rideshares instead, which quickly added up in costs. Had I researched the SkyTrain and bus routes, I could have saved a significant amount of money while exploring the city more efficiently.

Additionally, I failed to plan my itinerary around local dining hours. Many popular restaurants had long wait times, and I missed out on some must-try dishes. I also neglected to check if attractions required advance tickets, leading to disappointment when I arrived to find sold-out experiences.

Lastly, I didn't pack appropriately for the unpredictable weather, which left me uncomfortable during my adventures. Overall, these lessons will undoubtedly guide my future travels to this beautiful city.
