Donald Trump has said he will examine a 14-point proposal from Tehran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran. The plan was delivered to Washington through mediators in Pakistan, according to officials familiar with the matter. Trump, however, voiced skepticism about the offer, noting that previous attempts at negotiation have failed to produce lasting results.
The proposal reportedly includes a framework for de-escalation, a timeline for the withdrawal of forces, and guarantees regarding Iran's nuclear program. Iranian leaders have described the plan as a serious effort to restore stability in the region. They called on the United States to respond in good faith and to lift economic sanctions as part of any agreement.
Trump did not dismiss the proposal outright but said he would need to see concrete actions, not just words, before committing to talks. "We have been down this road before," he told reporters. "They talk a lot, but we need to see real change."
The conflict between the two nations has dragged on for months, with heavy casualties on both sides and widespread destruction across parts of the Middle East. International observers have urged both parties to find a diplomatic solution, warning that further escalation could destabilize the entire region.
Analysts say the involvement of Pakistani mediators suggests Iran is seeking a neutral channel to communicate its terms. Whether this latest effort leads to a breakthrough or another stalemate remains uncertain. For now, the world waits to see if the proposal will gain traction or fade into the long list of failed peace initiatives.
