HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Fire crews were called to a commercial structure fire in north Huntsville on Sunday evening. The alarm came in just before 7 p.m. for a business located off Stringfield Road, and multiple units were dispatched to the scene.
According to Huntsville Fire and Rescue officials, the first arriving crews found heavy smoke and flames showing from the building. Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack to bring the blaze under control while also working to protect nearby structures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the business or an estimated dollar amount for the damage. The road was temporarily closed in the area while crews worked, but it has since reopened. Fire personnel remained on the scene for several hours to extinguish hot spots and ensure the fire did not reignite.
This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available from officials.
