Huntington University has appointed Dr. Aaron Wilkinson as the new chair of its Department of Business and Economics. The private Christian liberal arts institution, located in Indiana, made the announcement this week. Dr. Wilkinson steps into the role after serving as a professor in the department and brings a mix of academic leadership and real-world business experience to the position.
Wilkinson holds a doctorate in business administration and has spent years teaching courses in management, organizational behavior, and strategic planning. Before entering academia, he worked in corporate management and consulting, giving him a practical perspective that he often brings into the classroom. University officials say his background aligns with the school's mission to blend faith with professional preparation.
Huntington University offers more than 70 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. The business and economics department is one of the larger units on campus, serving students pursuing degrees in accounting, finance, marketing, and management. Wilkinson will oversee curriculum development, faculty hiring, and student advising, as well as work to strengthen partnerships with local businesses for internships and job placements.
In a statement, Wilkinson said he looks forward to helping students connect their academic work with real career paths. He also emphasized the importance of ethical leadership in business, a core value at the university. The appointment takes effect immediately.
